Stephen Walker is an award winning journalist and author.

He has covered the politics of Northern Ireland for over 30 years.

    The author of 4 books, Stephen Walker’s debut publication ‘Forgotten Soldiers : The Irishmen Shot at Dawn’ was short listed for the Irish Book Awards in 2007. His second, the critically acclaimed ‘Hide and Seek’ was published in 2011 and his third book ‘Ireland’s Call’ was written in 2015.

    His latest book ‘The Persuader’, published by Gill Books is a biography of the Nobel Laureate John Hume. Stephen is a member of the Society of Authors and the Irish Writers Centre.

    An award winning journalist with over three decades broadcasting experience with the BBC. As a documentary maker with Spotlight, and a BBC NI political correspondent he covered the Troubles, the Peace Process, the Good Friday Agreement and Brexit. He has interviewed prime ministers, presidents and investigated paramilitaries. His work has been honoured by the Royal Television Society, the Irish Film and Television Awards and the Association of European Journalists.

    He was NI Journalist of the Year in 2005 and has been a NUJ member since 1988.
